Travel Itinerary

... will visit Norwich first and its two Cathedrals, then meet some family members. Will stay in Norfolk, to see the market towns, coast, marshes, castles and Churches. Then go to London, and see all the major sites and many more unusual ones. Including the best bagel shop in the world. Hopefully to travel in a camper van across to France to Paris, particularly Notre Dame, and down then to the Cathedral at Chartres. The area around Pau near the Pyrenees to explore the history and religious beliefs of the Cather's.(A group destroyed by the Roman Catholic Church in 13 century). Travel across Spain visiting Salamanca, Cordoba,(Grand Mosque and Cathedral built within it), and the Alhambra at Granada, then stay at a holiday home in Spain before coming back via Barcelona and a secret place in France which is a surprise. Back in England and with the warmer weather we will again visit London and Norfolk. I would also like to visit my cousin who is living near Swindon. Then will visit Derbyshire and Yorkshire, including York Minster and Durham Cathedral and Lindesfarne.

Pheww!! I can't even pronounce some of the names! Photographs to follow. :) :)

Dusun-Kadazan of former British North Borneo (Negara Sabah)

Curiously, but with jubilations, I stumbled upon this blog http://beingdusun.blogspot.com/2011/06/so-we-are-from-china.html. I am now an avid fan, love at first sight.

My own interests and aspirations are among others, to make the DusunKadazan race better known in the whole wide world. How to make that happen or to accomplish such an ambitious dream, is beyond me. I admit that I am just a simple Dusun woman with quite limited knowledge and hardly any credentials after my name. And yet, here I am, embarking on an adventurous journey in the quest of achieving this lifetime dream.

A late bloomer, you might say, for yes indeed, after thirty something years of day dreaming, wishful thinking and procrastination, I am finally given one more chance to make my dreams come true. God is a generous provider, the Divine Providence. I am blessed indeed. To Him be all the glory. Amen.

Gift from a Friend

“There comes a time when the world gets quiet and the only thing left is your own heart. So you'd better learn the sound of it. Otherwise you'll never understand what it's saying.”
― Sarah DessenJust Listen

I received this gift from a special friend who believed in my abilities and encouraged me to write on.

Hi no longer communicates, but I will treasure our time and sharing together.

Hope you are in good health and happy with your family. I do miss you.

Thank you so much.

Reawakening

After so many months, I am finally able to update this blog again. I almost forgot how to log in.

My dearest Malcolm Barber presented me with this book, as a guide and reference especially for budding writers like myself. The articles in this book are so helpful and inspiring.

A Note From Richard Madeley & Judy Finnigan

How do aspiring authors, poets, illustrators and journalists become published? The latest edition of the Writers' & Artists' Yearbook should come in useful.
We've become very aware of just how many budding authors there are since we've been involved with the book industry. Writing is an amazing thing to do and if you're successful, there's potential to reach thousands, maybe millions of people and touch their lives by evoking emotions, memories, sparking imaginations and perhaps even inspiring present and future actions.
The Writers' & Artists' Yearbook can help writers get their work out into the marketplace. It contains advice and contacts, explains the role of the literary agent, and how writers should present their work to publishers.
Lots and lots of luck with your writing endeavours.

THE PROUST QUESTIONNAIRE
(Marcel Proust)

What is your greatest fear?

What is your current state of mind?

What is your dream of happiness?

What historical figure do you most identify with?

Which living person do yu most admire?

Who is your favorite fictional hero?

Who has been the greatest influence on you?

What is your most treasured material possession?

When and where were you the happiest?

What trait do you most like in yourself?

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

What is your greatest extravagance?

What is your favorite journey?

What do you most dislike about your appearance?

What do you consider the most over-rated virtue?

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

If you could change a thing about yourself, what would it be?

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Where would you like to live?

What is the quality you most admire in a man?

What is the quality you most admire in a woman?

What is it you most dislike in life?

What do you value most in your friends?

How would you like to die?

What is your motto?

Life on earth is a temporary assignment.
To make the best of your life, you must never forget two truths: First, compared with eternity, life is extremely brief. Second, earth is only a temporary residence. You won’t be here long, so don’t get too attached. Rick Warren

I know this truth almost all my life ~ and yet I still feel depressed, confused, uncertain, afraid. What have I got to show my family, my friends and especially my kids? Have I disappointed them somehow? I receive encouraging words of support and comfort from time to time, and yet there would be times when I feel so lost, so useless, a failure. And the approval that I long to hear from someone dear and not getting it, leaves a deep irreversible scar. I know that I should not allow anything to affect me, as long as I know that I am walking in the light of truth...easier said than done. I am fragile.

All I can do... is surrender and trust in The Lord. Thy Will Be Done!

Recalling My Original Pursuit

I admit that I am new to blogging. It seems a great venue to practice  writing, etc so I took up the challenge. It’s fun and entertaining, a blog where I can jot down my ramblings and what nots, post articles from other bloggers or writers that I find informative and enlightening. It is also sort of therapeutic for me, for indeed the world of writing is lonesome and sometimes misunderstood. It makes me a loner, in the sense that I haven’t meet or interacted with other writers personally so the journey seems quite lonesome. There are times when I don’t enjoy the company of other individuals who are more concerned with temporal entertainment and pleasure seeking activities. I feel like an outcast and its hard to explain my reasons for not enjoying or appreciating those occasions.
Yet I don’t seem to have enough time to dedicate to this interesting pursuit. Writing is a fantasy world, whereas I live in the harsh reality of existence. How can I survive both worlds? Often times I lost my real purpose or motive for writing, especially on this blog. It’s high time I re-trace my original ideas.
First and foremost, I write for my own pleasure. It’s fun. playing with words and thoughts. It doesn’t really matter if other people don’t appreciate my ideas, but of course, to have fellow bloggers interact and comment on one another’s brainchild is positively motivating.
I also hope that through this blog I can get some messages and information easily accessible to others, especially those who are too busy with their own blogging and therefore have little time to research on other topics outside of their genre. Oh, I dunno. I am just a crazy old hag trying to gain immortality for myself ~ through something as tedious and technical as blogging.
