Day 24
| “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race” | |

Love & Serve Differently
Love one another as I have loved you...Jesus
There are many ways to fulfill this greatest commandment. Some may decide to make the ultimate sacrifice, by giving themselves totally to the service of the Kingdom of God as ordained ministers or religious. And yes, we adore and love them, and often give them highest priorities in any celebrations, and sometimes reward them financially or with a plague of recognition. After all they take care of our spiritual needs.
Yet others do so in their own little, hidden, unrecognized ways...so often unrewarded and soon forgotten. We oftentimes neglect to acknowledge their presence and contribution to our life and society. For instance, the janitors, garbage collectors, hard labourers, migrant workers...they received meagre wage for a hard day's work, and sometimes we marginalized them as unimportant. How cruel and selfish can we be.
Of course, the average person does love and serve as best as they could and know how, according to their status and positions in life. Some does it for recognition, example charitable works ~ others do it out of obligation, because the leaders, church, mosque, temple or law require it from them...All intention is good.
There is another kind of loving and serving God's people...which is a most difficult task. The work and mission of an insurance life agent! How wrongly to think that an agent's job is merely to sell! The truth is, we are doing them a great favour, by making them aware of the importance of having their financial future secured...mishaps, illness and accidents happen at the most unpredictable time. We don't need insurance while we are young and healthy. It is only when we get into trouble that we begin to regret, etc...so, the insurance agent takes care of our "financial" needs...not directly, but through consultation services. We give you recommendations, but ultimately, we respect your decision!

F9 Sat, 8:00 - 10:30
I attended my first cell group prayer meet tonight after the Sunset Mass. First time to enter the SC Hall. So many things had changed since I last visited almost twenty years ago...So many memories flooded my thoughts. I do enjoy the new songs and the spontaneous prayers. I met Margaret, Rose, Mary (who sent me back, n intro the new song) Olive, Sam, Raphael (newly baptized going to KL soon)...Thank you so much dear Lord...for Your plans and Your will is my delight!
Letter From A Father
I have never truly known what an earthly father's love is...for years I have been forlorn and without direction, always knowing there is something missing in my life. The Missing Link...again and in many occasion, this truth has been revealed to me, but I continued to be stubborn and unyielding. But He never lose hope in me...and now I am His Child once more, in mind and spirit. Totus Tuum (Bl John Paul ll) Amen!

Tribute to Mum
My mum is a retired school ma'am, having taught for over 30 years at several schools...in fact, until now we still call her 'madam'! Indeed, she still is a teacher; in her catechism classes on Sundays, special classes where she gives tutorial...and especially to us her own kids! We are continuously learning from her, especially on grammar and the correct pronunciation of words.
She is really gifted in the English language, one of the best in her time. Besides History and Pendidikan Moral, she once taught Bible Knowledge during the early days of teaching at SM St Martin Tampasak Tambunan. She had taught at SMK Bingkor, SRJK St Theresa, Tambunan and Sk Rancangan Belia Tiulon, Sook. Hundreds of students could attest to her contribution as a teacher, especially being able to predict the correct questions for History during the SPM examinations, among others.
